About the artwork
CSG _ 000116 ( KU ) - Following the principle that more is less and less is more, Max Kong leaves his artworks in an illusory state of inadequacy to invite the viewers to fill in more details through their imagination, concealing to better reveal. Constantly in search of new expressions, Max Kong's curiosity brings him to diverse horizons: he explores instinctive painting as well as calculated, precise, almost mathematical artworks. When the artist releases his subconscious on the canvas, he uses a spontaneous process close to action painting, letting his inspiration fill up the surface of the toile, feverishly. Accidental effects and hidden images create surprising properties that give additional attributes of life to the painting. His artworks use color, brightness, balance, and contrast to convey unique visual aesthetics.
