About the artwork
This painting by Lim Tze Peng beautifully captures a nostalgic moment in Bali, focusing on the simplicity of daily life. The intricately rendered details of stall owners roasting chestnuts evoke a sense of warmth and community. The women in colorful sarongs, engaged in lively trade, reflect the vibrant culture and traditions that have endured through time. They engaged in their trade under thatched roofs reminiscent of days gone past – the scene itself is evocative and nostalgic.
